ABOUT LEANNE
A former Library Assistant and Administrator, Leanne
Dunne began a small acrylic painting practice
in 2021 based in her Brisbane home studio.
Her scenic landscapes have an expressive semi-
abstract feel; less about a literal viewpoint and more
about capturing a feeling and connection.
“I’ve had the priveledge of travelling to
some magical Australian wilderness regions
(often with our ‘almost vintage’ caravan) ~
places like the Daintree, Franklin River,
Carnarvon Gorge, Stradbroke Island,
Fraser Island and the Red Centre
to name a few and these experiences
are a lifetime of highlights that
inspire my work”
Leanne’s penchant for color, texture and design
underpins her work with memories of place
and layers of earth tones.
Her work has been exhibited in popular Brisbane
Galleries and acquired by interstate and international
art collectors.
In 2023, Dunne co-founded the Base Art Collective
in collaboration with Base Art And Framing
in Holland Park, Brisbane.

In 2023, Leanne Dunne co-founded and established the Base Art Collective in collaboration with Base Art And Framing at Holland Park, Brisbane.
Dunne brought together a group of 25 local artists to display their artwork and ceramics and continues to recruit, promote and manage the ongoing administration for the group.
